Bicycle race

The flat, quiet roads of the camping site that we were staying at encouraged Hannah to try to learn to ride her bike without stabilisers. After a few wobbles, a couple of minor accidents, and a very tired Mum and Dad running along behind her, Hannah became a natural and by the end of the holiday was able to do laps of the camp site all on her own.

Will was keen to be the pit-crew and roadie!

Who said parks were just for children?

A visit to Burnham-on-sea led us to the park for the afternoon. The children looked like they were having so much fun, that the grown-ups had to join in too - although, Daddy needs to lose some more weight before the see-saw will work properly!

Mummy needed a crowbar to help squeeze her bottom out of the swing seat when she'd finished playing!

Meanwhile, Auntie Jan took it easy on the park bench. I hope that she spent lots of money in the shop owned by another of the Hurley clan!

Footprints

Thomas has got a lot of growing to do before he can share Uncle Mike's sandals!

Muddy the waters

Despite having an almost non-existent summer, we managed to time our holiday during weather that was warm enough for swimming in the sea. Well, swimming in the Bristol Channel anyway!

It was more mud than water, but everyone enjoyed splashing - except for Mum who was happier just taking the photographs.

The great outdoors

After the crazy Spring, a much needed Summer holiday was needed, so we headed to a campsite near Weston-Super-Mare with Auntie Jan, Uncle Mike, James and Bethan.

It was the first time that we'd been camping with the children, and we knew that they were going to love it. What we weren't sure of was whether Mum and Dad would love it as much - especially with a nearly-1 year-old in tow!

The good news is that everyone had a fantastic time, so we're pretty sure that we'll be doing something like that again next year. The only problem was that, as Will was dragging himself everywhere on his elbows, he pretty much spent the whole week with a brown streak down the front of his body.

Thomas certainly found the sleeping bag and air bed to his liking!

Tai-chi!

Kids with attitude

They might only be 6, 4 and nearly-1, but Hannah, Thomas and Will are fast becoming teenagers!

There's even worrying talk about boyfriends and girlfriends!

Thankfully, we still get lots of smiles from all of them, so the hormones haven't completely kicked in yet!

Church picnic

Amazingly, a church picnic was organised for today, and the weather actually stayed really nice and warm and sunny!

We headed to Cosmeston Lakes, and had a great time munching, chatting and sunbathing. Will put his new-found crawling techniques to good use by crawling around everybody else's picnic to find out if they had nicer sandwiches than he was getting at our blanket!

Hannah and Thomas were admiring the view, although it looks like the fish near where they were standing had eaten a curry the night before...

Spiderman up close and personal...

And, without the make-up...
