Stop - Hama time!

It doesn't seem that long ago since we were taking Thomas to the hospital on New Year's Eve with a Hama-bead stuck up his nose, but they're still a popular activity in our house. Even Will is getting in on the act these days, so it's only a matter of time before he finds an appropriate orifice to wedge his own Hama-bead into!

Happy Birthday Bethan

It was Cousin Bethan's third birthday today, so we all headed to the Thomas' house for jelly & ice-cream. There was plenty of bouncing on trampolines, and playing in the garden. And, as usually happens at the Thomas' house, a water fight started!

Bethan seemed like she was enjoying her special day. She certainly wanted to prove that she was enjoying the birthday cake!

Will enjoyed the water fight more, but knew how best to hide indoors!

Midnight feast!

To mark the end of their visit to Norwich, Hannah, Thomas, Chloe and Anya had a cinema evening (High School Musical 2!) and midnight feast. Something tells me they enjoyed themselves!

Something also tells me that Anya likes popcorn!

Cousins

They don't get to meet up very often, but when they do, Hannah, Thomas and Will get on fantastically well with their cousins Chloe and Anya. If only someone would hurry up and invent Star Trek transporters, so that it wasn't a five+ hour car journey to visit!

The great Easter egg hunt

The Easter rabbit snuck into the house in Norwich overnight to scatter it's Easter eggs all around the house. It didn't take long for the children to sniff out the chocolate. That rabbit didn't stand a chance!

Sand between the toes

Lots of the play parks in Norwich have sand as a the flooring, presumably to stop any children from smashing into solid concrete as they leap off the top of slides! It's great for safety, but it does leave pockets full of sand at the end of the day, especially when you're making 'sand angels'!

A great way to clear the sand off your shoes, though, is to stand in the middle of a fountain...

Fancy dress parade

Hannah, Thomas, Will and Ruth headed to Norwich this week to visit Uncle Tim, Auntie Abby, Chloe and Anya. Daddy had a very quiet week at home!

The first full day in Norwich involved digging through Chloe and Anya's dressing up clothes and putting on a Royal Performance - the video is something else! Here's some samples of the costumes, though...

Will just looked on in amusement!

Making the most of the weather

It doesn't take long after the sun comes out before Hannah and Thomas (and now Will) are desperate to eat lunch in the garden! Jam sandwiches taste so much nicer in the fresh air!

Happy Easter!

If you can get nativity scenes at Christmas, why don't you get a similar thing at Easter? Hannah, Thomas and Grandad worked together very hard to make this fantastic Easter model, complete with living flowers and an empty tomb!

Here's a close up!

Happy 7th Birthday, Hannah!

After the bowling party on the weekend, Hannah enjoyed her real birthday today. She had a fantastic day : swimming in the new pool at Cardiff Bay, followed by an afternoon playing on her new Nintendo game, followed by a family party in the evening, where she was given her own Nintendo DS (thank-you Granny and Grandad, Nanny and Grumpy!). In her own words : "it was my best birthday ever"!

Of course, everyone else enjoyed themselves, too! None more so than Will as he sat on a beanbag stuffing his face!

What are you looking at?

Birthday Bowling

Hannah chose to celebrate her 7th birthday with a ten-pin bowling party this year. Everyone who came had lots of fun, especially Thomas who ended up winning the first game!

It'll probably take the bowling place a while to smooth out all of the dents in the floor though, judging by the number of crashes and bangs we caused as our party practised their bowling techniques!

A place to chew

Will is a huge fan of nuts, seeds and raisins, and he's never quieter than when he's got a pot in hand. The comfiest seat he could find in the house was the washing basket, though, so I expect we'll be picking raisins out of the washing machine for weeks!
