On Safari

Daddy's got a couple of weeks off work now, but rather than go away anywhere for the whole two weeks, we're going to go on a bunch of cool day trips and visits.

Our first one was to West Midlands Safari Park in Uncle Mike's minibus! It was a fab trip, where Thomas fell in love with zebras, Hannah realised that she doesn't like White Water Rapids, and Mummy was gutted that she wasn't allowed on any of the rides because she was pregnant. Daddy enjoyed them though!

It looks like some monkeys managed to get into the minibus!

All aboard Noah's Ark

It was Hannah's nursery school trip today, so Hannah and Mummy took a coach trip to the fantastic Noah's Ark Zoo Farm. Daddy and Thomas were feeling left out, so we stowed-away in the luggage compartment, so that we could go too! (OK, we followed the coach in the car!)

We all had a great time, and if you're looking for a day out near Bristol then we'd recommend a visit. We're definitely not a family of farmers or vets, though - Thomas got scared by a sheep, while Hannah was more interested in having a picnic than seeing any of the animals!

It wasn't just 'normal' farm animals that we met, though - these were a couple of the biggest animals.

And these were the greediest - these three goats gobbled up the whole bag of feed that Hannah had bought, and looked like they wanted to eat her fingers, too!

Thomas and Daddy loved going down this slide. Every time they got to the bottom, one of them would shout "Again, Again", and it wasn't always Thomas!

And finally, a photo of Mummy and Hannah chilling out at the end of a very hot, very enjoyable day.

Happy Birthday, Grandad!

We headed around to Grandad and Grandma's house this afternoon to wish Grandad a very happy birthday! A delicious chocolate, cherry and nut homemade cake made for a very tasty birthday cake - although Hannah and Thomas left cake crumbs everywhere!

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

It was Daddy's turn to have a birthday today - and what a great day he had!

Just to make sure that he wasn't past it, he got up at 6:45 and went for a jog. He didn't collapse on the way, so he can't be that old, but worryingly he did have to spend longer in his oxygen tent to recover than he did yesterday when he was younger!

The rest of the morning was spent mooching around town, spending his birthday money, and then we all had a lovely meal out in the evening.

All in all, a very relaxing birthday!

Heatwave

Any excuse to get the paddling pool out, but Cardiff has been experiencing a mini heatwave this weekend, so we've been having lots of fun in the garden!

Sticking the slide into the paddling pool meant that it was like having our own private Center Parcs! It was all going so well until Daddy had a go down the slide and caused a huge tidal wave - there wasn't much water left in the pool after that!
