Red noses

Hannah and Thomas bought their Red Noses to support Comic Relief today, although Thomas was more interested in the stickers than the nose!

It was Mum's birthday today - Happy Birthday Ruth!

One of her presents was a piñata, full of sweets and chocolate. The hard bit was trying to bash it open!

 

In fact, this piñata is still going strong (as of May 2007!), so if you've got a baseball bat and a mighty swing then come around to our house and try your luck!

It's snow time!

The snow has been falling in Cardiff over the last couple of days, so the Hurleys headed out into the wild outdoors to enjoy the snow (except from Mum who thinks snow is way too cold!)

This beautifully crafted snowball just missed the camera, and Mum!

Happy 85th Birthday, Nan-Nan!

Nan-Nan was 85 years young today, so all of the family invaded her Nursing Home to celebrate!

All of the excitement tired out Nan-Nan, but she still had time to give a big kiss to her youngest granddaughter, Bethan!

And Thomas happily tucked into his fruit salad!

Happy Birthday, Nanny!

It was Nanny's 62nd birthday today - but she doesn't look a day over 21!

She even had the puff to blow out all her candles!

Sometimes, it's best not to know...

This is a snippet of conversation heard in the Hurley Home recently:

Thomas: What's that?

Hannah: It looks like a black jelly bean.

Thomas: Oh.

...a few seconds of silence...

Hannah: Yuck. It's not a jelly bean.

We never did find out what it was, but it's a good job that we don't have a pet rabbit!

More child labour

We like to make sure that we get our money's worth out of our children!

This time, we got our money's worth out of our nephew as well! After a failed attempt at trying to fix our broken fence ourselves (time to get the experts in), we employed Hannah, Thomas and James to 'tidy' things up for us.

And, it only cost us three jelly beans each!

Big, Bad Wolf!

We had a visit from the big, bad wolf overnight. And, he huffed and puffed and blew our fence down!

Happy Birthday, Uncle Tim!

Uncle Tim officially became closer to 40 than he is to 30 today!

Tim, Abby, Chloe and Anya all came to Cardiff for the weekend, so we had the chance to celebrate with Tim - although he seemed to want to spend more time sleeping than he did partying!

It was also fun to see Chloe and Anya again - Thomas is firm friends with Anya, and with a smile like this, you can see why!

New Year, New Nursery

It was Thomas' big day today as he headed off to 'Lighthouse Nursery' for the first time. And he loved it!

He's going to do two mornings a week up to the summer, and it's already clear that he'd prefer to stay there than go home when Mummy comes to pick him up. His teddy went with him this morning, just in case he needed a cuddle, but Thomas was so busy enjoying himself, that he actually left Teddy behind at home time. Perhaps it was because Teddy was enjoying himself so much, too!
