The need for speed...

No trip to West Wales would be complete without a visit to Oakwood, and it turns out that we have at least two rollercoaster-fanatic children (and we're pretty sure that the third is going to turn out that way, too!

We started with the nice gentle rides...

...before moving onto the 'coasters! Hannah and Thomas started off just by going on the Treetops rollercoaster with Mum or Dad, but before long they were riding on their own, at the front, at the back, in the middle, screaming for more all the way around! They must have ridden it about 7 or 8 times in all!

Next time we go, we'll let them try Megaphobia... and see if they're still smiling then!

Monks & Monkeys

Caldey Island is such a peaceful place to visit, with a monastery that looks like something straight out of a Harry Potter movie! A Monk's life seemed quite appealing!

I just hope that our monkeys didn't disturb everyone else's peace and quiet!

Sail away...

Actually, there were no sails on the boat that we were floating in, as we headed to Caldey Island to visit the Monastery. It was diesel-power that took us on the journey, but everyone loved the trip.

Tenby looked beautiful as we left it behind...

Saundersfoot

The Sunday of the Bank Holiday Weekend was really a 'Sun'-day. The weather was gorgeous, but a quick trip to Tenby showed that everyone else thought that the beach was the place to head, so we quickly left and headed along the coast to Saundersfoot. The weather there was just as nice, the beach just as beautiful, and the parking spaces much easier to find!

We started with a quick trip to a restaurant for a proper Sunday dinner (we were missing Nanny & Grumpy's Sunday dinner!)

And then, to the beach, where Hannah, Thomas and Will would have happily spent the whole day having adventures in the sea. Mermaids and Mermen they must be!

Oh, we do like to be beside the seaside...

We headed off on our camping holiday this week - the first time we'd been camping as a family on our own!

The campsite was really good, with a fantastic playpark that the children would have happily spent their whole holiday at! And, it was within walking distance (just!) of a beautiful private beach. We went there on the first night to check it out.
